Musgrave accelerates Northern Ireland q-commerce expansion with Snappy Technologies’ Order Aggregation platform

Musgrave Northern Ireland, part of the Musgrave Group, Ireland’s leading convenience retail, wholesale and food service business, whose brands include SuperValu and Centra, has expanded its rapid grocery delivery offering through a partnership with Snappy Technologies, powered by the technology company’s Order Aggregation (OA) platform.

Musgrave Northern Ireland’s adoption of the OA platform connects its stores with leading rapid delivery marketplaces, with five company-owned SuperValu and Centra stores across Northern Ireland now available on Just Eat and Uber Eats, giving customers new ways to shop for groceries from their local store.

A further 13 company-owned stores are expected to launch in the next phase of the rollout across September. The partnership forms part of Musgrave’s wider investment in q-commerce as it responds to growing consumer demand for convenient, rapid delivery services.

The expansion will help Musgrave Northern Ireland reach new customers by making its products available to more consumers across these marketplaces.

With Snappy Technologies’ OA platform, Musgrave can manage orders from multiple online marketplaces through a single, streamlined solution. The technology enables retailers to manage key functions including orders, menus, promotions and stock across multiple channels, helping simplify operations while expanding their online reach.

Head of Operational Support for Musgrave Northern Ireland, Barry McVeigh said:

“We’re always looking at ways to make shopping easier and more convenient for our customers, and this partnership with Snappy Technologies is an important step in that journey.

“By connecting our SuperValu and Centra stores to leading delivery platforms such as Just Eat and Uber Eats, we’re giving customers greater flexibility in how they shop, whether that’s picking up essentials or ordering groceries for the week ahead.

“The technology also provides a streamlined solution for our store teams, allowing us to manage orders efficiently across multiple channels while maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect. We’re excited to expand the rollout across Northern Ireland in the coming months as demand for rapid grocery delivery continues to grow.”

The launch represents the latest development in Snappy Technologies’ work with major retail groups looking to expand their presence in a rapidly growing q-commerce market.

Andy Batt, VP of Snappy Technologies, said:

“Musgrave is taking an ambitious approach to q-commerce, and we’re excited to support its strategy. The rapid growth of q-commerce is creating a significant opportunity for retailers but reaching customers across multiple different marketplaces can also introduce additional operational complexity. Our OA platform is designed to remove this complexity, giving retailers a simpler way to manage marketplace activity while expanding digital reach.”

Snappy Technologies forms part of Snappy Group, alongside Snappy Shopper, the company’s q-commerce marketplace, and Snappy Media, its retail media arm. Together, the Group supports retailers with technology spanning OA, EPOS integrations, last-mile delivery and retail media solutions.

The business has processed more than 20 million company orders, supporting thousands of retailers across the UK.
