Snappy Group, the technology business behind Snappy Shopper and Hungrrr, has appointed Vineta Bajaj, recently appointed Group CFO at Holland & Barrett and former senior executive at Ocado Group, to its board as a Non-Executive Director.
The appointment comes as the UK high street undergoes a structural shift, consumers are demanding more value, flexibility and local support – not simply fast delivery.
“Convenience is being redefined,” said Bajaj. “It’s no longer just about speed. It’s about service, sustainability, and accessibility. Customers want grocery shopping that fits their lives: 24/7 ordering, loyalty, transparency and support for their local community. The next day full basket delivery had its moment, and that was yesterday.”
Bajaj will join Snappy Group’s board immediately, strengthening its leadership team, which includes illustrious industry veteran Justin King CBE, former CEO of Sainsbury’s.
Tech innovations reshape UK convenience retail
Over the past 12 months, Snappy Group has accelerated development of retail technology designed to give retailers the same digital advantage as major grocers, without the high fees.
Recent launches include:
- Order aggregation technology, enabling retailers to manage orders from Just Eat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats, FoodHub and more through one system
- Google Shopping integrations, helping local shops appear where customers are already searching
- 24/7 delivery capabilities, unlocking additional revenue streams for retailers who want to expand trading hours

The future of Q-commerce
Over 100 retailers on Snappy Shopper generate £1M+ in GMV as demand for convenience ecommerce continues to grow.
Market forecasts predict 11.4m UK quick-commerce users by 2030, with penetration rising from 11.9% in 2025 to 16% by 2030 (niq) but Bajaj says “speed alone won’t win.”
“The future of q-commerce is technology that drives profitable, local growth,” Bajaj added.
Vineta Bajaj brings significant experience in online grocery, M&A and international growth. At Ocado Group she played a pivotal role in global expansion and major capital raises totalling nearly $2bn. At Rohlik Group she helped double revenues past $1bn while overseeing strategic investment and transformation.
Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Vineta to our board. Her global experience and deep understanding of online grocery and digital commerce will be invaluable as we continue to scale and strengthen our business.”
New milestones
Bajaj’s appointment marks a significant milestone in Snappy Group’s ambitious growth, reinforcing the strength of its leadership team and the company’s trajectory as a leading technology innovator.
Bajaj added: “I am thrilled to be joining Snappy Group at such an exciting moment in its journey. Having worked closely with many grocery and high street retailers, I’ve seen firsthand how technology can transform convenience retail.
“Snappy Group’s innovative platform and tech-driven approach to supporting local retailers is what really sets it apart, and supports growth on the high street which is close to my heart.”
