From 4 daily Just Eat orders 20: how one Premier store turned a forgotten channel around

For convenience retailers operating across multiple delivery platforms, being available on more channels creates more opportunities for sales – but it can also mean more work.

That was the challenge facing the team at Premier One Stop Shop. Managing separate menus, updating prices and keeping product availability accurate across Snappy Shopper, Just Eat and Deliveroo meant valuable time was being spent maintaining multiple platforms.

Since introducing Snappy Technologies’ Order Aggregation, that’s changed.

By bringing the management of multiple delivery channels together, Premier One Stop Shop estimates they are now saving at least 14 hours per week in manual updates. And with more time to focus on its online offering, the store has also seen significant growth through Just Eat – increasing from around 4 daily orders to more than 20 🚀

One place to manage multiple platforms

Before Order Aggregation, the team at Premier One Stop Shop had to manage Snappy Shopper, Just Eat and Deliveroo separately.

Every time a product needed to be added or removed, its availability changed, or a price needed updating, the work had to be repeated across the different platforms.

“With Just Eat and Deliveroo, you’d manually have to go into the back office, look for the product, hide it, add it on or change the price.”

Order Aggregation has simplified that process.

Instead of maintaining each delivery platform individually, Premier One Stop Shop can manage changes centrally and have them reflected across Premier One Stop Shop’s connected channels.

“The biggest benefit is adding products on and taking products off the different platforms, being able to do it just through one. It consequently getting done on the rest automatically helps, including changing prices.”

For Premier One Stop Shop, the impact on the store’s day-to-day workload has been significant.

“You’re literally saving, I would say, probably at least a couple of hours a day.”

Importantly, Premier One Stop Shop is achieving those time savings without an EPOS integration, demonstrating the benefits Order Aggregation can deliver simply by removing the need to manually maintain multiple delivery platforms.

Turning Just Eat into a channel for growth

The biggest impact hasn’t just been the time saved. It’s what the team have been able to do as a result.

Previously, Just Eat wasn’t a major focus for Premier One Stop Shop. Maintaining the platform required too much manual work, so it was largely left to run in the background.

“We had Just Eat, and it was kind of just left to the side. If an order came through, great; if it didn’t, it wasn’t really a big deal, only because it was so time-consuming to add a product on, change a menu and whatnot.”

Order Aggregation has changed that.

With significantly less manual administration required, Premier One Stop Shop can keep its Just Eat offering more accurate and up to date without creating additional workload for the team.

And that has translated into growth.

From 3–4 Just Eat orders to close to 20

Before using Order Aggregation, Premier One Stop Shop was receiving 3–4 orders through Just Eat. The store is now seeing close to 20.

“Since it’s become integrated and we only need to do it through Snappy and automatically it’s through Just Eat, it’s grown substantially.”

For the team, the reason behind that growth is clear: customers now have access to a better and more reliable online menu.

“It’s a more accurate menu, it’s more up to date, and that’s the main reason that it’s grown – 100%.”

Instead of customers finding a limited or outdated range, Premier One Stop Shop can make more of its range available while keeping product information and availability up to date.

Premier One Stop Shop believes that has helped give customers greater confidence when ordering.

“I know for a fact we wouldn’t be as busy on it if it wasn’t for the integration.”

Bigger menus and bigger baskets

Premier One Stop Shop has also seen customers spending more through Just Eat.

While the team didn’t have the exact average basket figures available during our conversation, they highlighted that order values have increased as the store’s menu has become bigger and more reliable.

“The order value’s a lot bigger as well on Just Eat because obviously the menu’s bigger and they’ve got a little bit more confidence in it.”

It’s an important part of the impact Order Aggregation can have.

It’s not simply about bringing orders from different platforms together. By making menus significantly easier to maintain, retailers can improve the experience customers see when they open a delivery app.

More products can be available, information can be kept up to date and store teams can spend less time on repetitive administration.
